Usage:

Alprazolam is frequently used in the treatment of anxiety and panic disorders.  In cancer sufferers, the drug would be prescribed for depressive symptoms that sometimes result from treatment or condition. It is most commonly prescribed in tablet form, but is also available in disintegrating tablet and liquid forms.1

Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine, which works through a process that decreases atypical excitement in the brain.1

Side effects:

Alprazolam has a variety of side effects, which include: drowsiness, light-headedness, headache, tiredness, dizziness, irritability, nausea, appetite/body changes and overall irritability.1
