New Possible Carcinogens Identified By National Institutes Of Health.

The US Department of Health and Human Services released the "12th Report on Carcinogens” on Friday, June 10, 2011 through the National Institute of Health’s National Toxicology Program. In this report, eight chemicals were listed for the first time as agents that were “known or reasonably anticipated” to be carcinogenic. The most notable of the new chemicals are formaldehyde, which is found in many home building materials, and styrene, often found in fiberglass and food container products. Also on the list was Riddelliine, a plant chemical found in some herbal remedies.  (Note that Riddelliine is NOT the same as the drug Ritalin®, used to control attention deficit disorder.)
