Cancer Deaths Drop From 1990-2007

In the American Cancer Society’s recent releases, “Cancer Statistics, 2011” and “Cancer Facts and Figures 2011”, estimate indicate that the rates of death from cancers decreased steadily between 1990 and 2007. There was a reduction in deaths of 22% for men and 14% in women, totaling approximately 898,000 deaths prevented. Advances in prevention, detection, and treatment are credited with the improvements.
