Soy increases radiation's ability to kill lung cancer cells.

CQChemicals derived from soy beans have been shown to have numerous biological affects.  New research from Wayne State University has shown that soy compounds can increase the killing of lung cancer cells caused by radiation.  An increase of this type is called 'radiosensitization'.  The chemicals essentially make it harder for the cancer cells to repair the damage caused by the radiation treatments.  As long as it can be shown that the chemicals do not harm normal cells, this is a promising, non-toxic way to increase the effectiveness of radiation therapy.
