Addition of palliative care early in lung cancer diagnosis improves patient quality of life and extends lifespan.

Patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSLC) who had palliative care added into their treatment plan at the time of diagnosis had a better quality of life. These patients tended to receive less aggressive treatment at the end of their lives but lived longer than patients who did not receive palliative care all along.
