Interview with Dr. James Snyder

Director of Biostructural Research
Department of Chemistry
Emory University

Dr. Snyder's research includes the creation of computer models of the interactions between chemicals (including potential drugs) and their targets.  These models help other chemists to design drugs that are a better fit for their target as well as explain some of the side-effects or other activities seen with drug candidates. In this interview, Dr. Snyder discusses how computer modeling is used in drug development and the limitations of the technique.  He also discusses how students can become involved in this type of research.
