March is colorectal cancer awareness month.

Colorectal cancer is a leading killer of both men and women and it is estimated that over 51,000 deaths due to the disease occured in 2010.  Early detection of colon cancer is critical.  Learn more about colon and rectal cancer.

CancerQuest director to speak at Georgia Science Teachers' Association Annual Conference

CancerQuest's director, Dr. Gregg Orloff, will discuss ways that science teachers can use the content, animations and curriculum developed by CancerQuest.  CancerQuest will also be giving out posters, CDs and DVDs at the GA Bio table.  For more informaion, visit the GSTA website.

World Cancer Day

Each February 4th, the World Health Organization recognizes World Cancer Day.  WHO estimates that wiith any changes, about 85 MILLION people will die of cancer in the decade between 2005 and 2015.

CancerQuest partners with the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey

We are very pleased to announce a partnership with the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM).  We will be working faculty and staff at the Querétaro campus on the Spanish translation of the website and the development of new Spanish content for the site. 

The work will be integrated into courses offerd at the school, providing students with a great opportunnity to learn cancer biology, engage in the presentation of scientific information and develop their skills in translation of scientific/technical material.
