An excellent and very current text on the subject is The Biology of Cancer, 1st edition by Robert Weinberg; published by Garland Science, Taylor and Francis Group, NY, NY (2006) currently available Textbook Website.

Cell and Molecular Biology, 5th edition. Gerald Karp; published by John Wiley and Sons, Inc. NY, NY (2007)- This text is an introduction to molecular biology. It has overlap with the text listed above but goes into more detail in some areas. It has an emphasis on molecular processes. Textbook Website.

Molecular Biology of the Cell, 5th edition. Bruce Alberts, Alexander Johnson, Julian Lewis, Martin Raff, Keith Roberts and Peter Walter; published by Garland Publishing, Inc. Genes and the Biology of Cancer. Harold Varmus and Robert Weinberg; published by Scientific American Library, NY, NY (1993)- This is another older book that has good introductions into cancer biology and is well illustrated.Textbook Website.

Oncogenes, 2nd edition. Geoffrey Cooper; published by Jones and Bartlett, Sudbury, MA (1995)- This is another older book but it contains useful information on oncogenes, tumor suppressors and the study of cancer.Textbook Website.

The Genetic Basis of Human Cancer, 2nd edition. Bert Vogelstein and Kenneth Kinzler; published by McGraw-Hill (Health Professions Division) NY NY (2002)-Comprehensive introduction into the genetics of several kinds of cancer.
